Whether you’re a person who appreciates warm weather or one who lives for winter weather and sports, Ligonier has something to offer! Unfortunately for lovers of warmth, winter is upon us, but that shouldn’t stop you from having some fun in Ligonier! There are plenty of things to do, both indoor and out through the colder months. Here are a few ideas:
There’s never a bad time to shop in Ligonier! Many merchants have winter clearance right now, so you might even find a great deal. There’s even a birthday celebration in February! Martin’s Specialty Shop is celebrating its 117th Birthday on February 4! Stop by for birthday cake!
Our dining establishments are open through the winter! Stop in for refuge from the cold plus a delicious, warm meal. If you’re looking for dinner AND a show, visit Ramada Ligonier on February 17 for I Loathe Lucy, a Mysteries Most Wanted dinner show. We even have some options for you if you want to combine going to dinner with donating to a good cause. Myriam’s Table Cafe will host the first monthly PEACEmeal dinner on February 2. All profits from the dinner will benefit those affected by the civil war in Syria. You can also visit The Road Toad on February 27 between 4:30 and 8:30 p.m. A portion of the profits during this time will be donated to Heritage United Methodist Church’s Community Building project.
Ligonier is the perfect place to stay on your next ski trip! We’re only a 20-minute drive away from newly opened Laurel Mountain Ski and just a little farther from Seven Springs and Hidden Valley Resorts! You’ll be able to enjoy our small-town atmosphere as well as the hustle and bustle of ski resorts. Ramada Ligonier or Thistledown at Seger House would love to accommodate your lodging!
If you’re less outdoorsy and prefer to be in a heated environment, taking advantage of Main Exhibit Gallery & Art Center‘s many art classes may be something right up your alley! Click HERE to explore their art classes. Another type of class to visit this winter is yoga! Red Brick Yoga offers daily classes to help you balance and center your life. Powdermill Nature Reserve is even offering some fun events for both children and adults!
