Ligonier is blooming with things to do this spring. With the Diamond Renaissance Project bringing new life to the center of town, all of your favorite Ligonier events will have a new spark this year!

In addition to town-wide events such as Soup’s On, The Wine Walk, and Antiques on the Diamond, many of our members have their own special events going on. There is something for everyone in Ligonier. Visit our events page for all activity listings… but here are a few highlights to add to your list of reasons to Visit Ligonier this spring.

Fun with Friends:

Grab your friends and try something new this spring! Fort Ligonier will welcome guests for Collections and Coffee. Enjoy a cup of brew from Ligonier’s local coffeehouse Abigail’s Coffeehouse and be the first to see the exciting new items that have been added to Fort’s collection. A stunning circa 1760s “map” powderhorn that depicts sites along Forbes Road, featuring Fort Ligonier and Pittsburgh, is just one of the newly-acquired historical artifacts. Join Fort Ligonier’s Director of History and Collections, Dr. Erica I. Nuckles for a special lecture about the new treasures. Also upcoming at Fort is Tipsy History. Join us for the Fort’s (slightly tamer) version of the hilarious Drunk History sketches. Sip on a spirit while immersed in a casual conversation with Fort Ligonier’s museum professionals. If you’re looking to shake off the winter, sign up for Red Brick Yoga’s Beginner Yoga Fundamentals. This three-hour course will explain the basic pose structure, proper alignment, and breathing techniques need to start your yoga practice. You will learn the most common poses, pose names, and sequences so you will feel comfortable in a group yoga class. Red Brick Yoga also offers many other classes at their studio in Ligonier, Check out the full schedule HERE.

Easter Activities:

It wouldn’t be Spring without Easter, and it wouldn’t be Easter with Easter Egg Hunts! There are two scheduled in town this year: Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art will have eggs galore in their beautiful gardens that will just be starting to show the first signs of spring. Heritage United Methodist Church will host its annual Easter egg hunt in and around the church. You won’t want your little ones to miss these egg-stra fun community egg hunts! Another necessity of Easter is food! The Rotary Club of Ligonier will hold its annual Pancake Breakfast in the Ligonier Town Hall beginning at 8 a.m. on Palm Sunday. This all-you-can-eat meal features pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage and drinks. If you need a place for a delicious Easter Brunch, look no further than Ramada Ligonier. Reservations for this brunch are strongly recommended.

Spring Staples:

Spring’s arrival also means it is time for high school musicals. After wowing crowds with West Side Story last year, Ligonier Valley High School will present Into the Woods from April 4th-6th at 7pm each night. You won’t want to miss this fantastic production by our local students!

It seems like when springs rolls around, everyone gets the cleaning bug at the same time. If you plan to start by cleaning out your closet, you will definitely want to visit some of Ligonier’s wonderful apparel stores to revamp your wardrobe. Black Bunny, Song of Sixpence, Post & Rail Men’s Shop and Martin’s Specialty Shop (to name a few) are all bringing in their spring items, so stop in and see what’s new and what you just have to have! Following the clear out of your closet, help clean up the Ligonier Valley itself! Join your friends and neighbors at the 13th Annual Great Ligonier Valley cleanup, sponsored by the Loyalhanna Watershed Association. The Watershed is once again seeking volunteers from the community to help beautify our area by picking up roadside litter on various routes throughout the Valley. Individuals, clubs, churches and organizations are invited to participate, and all supplies will be provided. Please consider helping to keep Ligonier the gem that it is! After cleaning the valley, enjoy the fruit from it at the Wine Walk. Sip wine from local wineries while visiting the diamond shops. If you enjoy Soups On! and Pumpkin Spice Ligonier, this event is for you! This is a ticketed event and it will sell out, don’t miss the sale on April, 4th at 8:30am.
