Hi there! I’m Ashley Krause and I have the pleasure of interning with the Ligonier Valley Chamber of Commerce. I work alongside Scott and Ruthie as their Content Development Intern!

With this position, I’ve been able to build my portfolio, learn the ins and outs of the chamber, and most importantly, feel the warmest welcome to the valley. Some background on me, I’m a senior at Saint Vincent College studying Communication and Marketing. I’m from Uniontown, PA and was honestly unfamiliar with Ligonier (aside from knowing it had the best small town vibes) before starting this position. From my first day on the job, I felt those vibes and immediately formed a connection with the community and chamber members here. My first day involved visiting the Country Market with Ruthie with my goal being to take some photos for our social media accounts and promotional content. Ruthie, of course, knew almost everyone, so she introduced me as her new intern. The reactions I got were so genuine and it was a great first impression of the community here. About a month in, I attended my first chamber breakfast at the fire department. Aside from shopping around town on my own, this was my first official introduction to our chamber members. I gave my little two-minute introduction to the smiling crowd and was happy to converse with many of them afterward. One of my main contributions to the chamber includes writing blog posts, like this! I really enjoy learning about all of the events our members have going on and promoting them. Coming from out of town, I had no idea that all of this was available to me. Now that I know, I tell all of my family and friends about how much fun can be had in Ligonier. I can’t seem to stay away — I’ve brought my boyfriend here on plenty of dates and always suggest a visit when my friends are debating plans. If you attend any chamber events, you’ll likely see me there with my camera! I’m also responsible for event coverage photography. I’ve been taking photos for years and have yet to find a more photogenic town than Ligonier. I’m here at the office every Wednesday from 9:00 AM until about 1:00 PM. Stop by and say hi! I’d love to meet you and hear your ideas on how we can promote community events or support your business. Thank you to everyone who has welcomed me to Ligonier! I’m excited to be interning here through the holiday season into the end of 2019.
