Light up Ligonier 2019!
Come enjoy light up Ligonier 2019! The North Pole has confirmed that Santa Claus will be arriving in Ligonier on Friday, November 29th at 6:30 pm.
He is looking forward to helping us light up our beautiful Diamond and greeting the children afterward.
Santa is slated to arrive via horse-drawn sleigh, led to town by a parade including the Ligonier Valley High School marching band under director of Brianna Grimm, local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, the Idlewild Trolley and Miss Ligonier’s Court. Assisting Santa will be our emcee Bill Brown, Ligonier Mayor Ormond “Butch” Bellas, Miss Ligonier Jenny Hiles, first runner up Hannah Long and second runner up Bailey Valentine. Be sure to arrive early to enjoy Christmas music with Ligonier Radio. Ron will be asking children from the crowd to share their favorite thing about the holidays.
One lucky child and their family will have the opportunity to help Santa press the button to light up the Diamond. Our ‘Help Santa Light Up Ligonier’ contest will once again give one lucky child and their family the opportunity to arrive with Santa in the sleigh, and help Santa light the Diamond. You can purchase tickets at Abigail’s Coffeehouse and The Ligonier Valley Chamber Of Commerce office. Our Winner will be announced Monday, the 25th LIVE on Facebook then contacted for details. Afterward, Santa will be checking his list and greeting good boys and girls in the community room of Ligonier Town Hall. Children will also have the opportunity to participate in “Coloring for Christmas Cheer” as they wait their turn to speak with Santa. All coloring pages will be distributed to local residents at Bethlen Communities locations. Everyone is encouraged to drop their letters to Santa in the mailbox in front of Town Hall through Christmas Eve. Sleigh rides will be available in front of Town Hall, weather permitting, immediately following the lighting of the Diamond by Ernie Alwine, owner of Misty Haven Carriage. After lighting up the diamond, Ron Adams from Ligonier Radio “The Valley,” will be showing vintage Christmas short features and cartoons in the auditorium of Town Hall. The cartoons will be free and open to the public.
