Eagles Nest Woolens, owned by Caroline Twigg of Keedysville, MD, will be hosting a rug hooking school in Ligonier, April 15-19. To celebrate the return of the ‘hookers’ to Ligonier and to welcome the Eagles Nest Rug School, Ligonier merchants have enthusiastically joined together to participate in the first, Get Hooked On Rugs walk through town. During the week of April 15-19, participating merchants will “host” a hooked rug in their place of business.
The 48+ rug hookers and the public, are invited to stroll through the shops in Ligonier to view these excellent examples of rugs loaned by nationally recognized artists, including Ligonier’s renowned rug hooker, Barb Carroll. In addition, there will a public display of hooked rugs, Wednesday, April 18 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the lower level of the Town Hall. The exhibition will coincide with an Open House at the Ramada from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Open House will allow visitors to view the students’ works in progress and provide an opportunity to purchase hooking materials, patterns, and books.
